½ pink grapefruit broken into sections

¼ – ½ C water

1 tsp vanilla powder

5 drops vanilla crème stevia

Take ½ of your grapefruit segments and freeze them solid.  Here’s a hint- this recipe is so good, freeze half of the entire grapefruit because you’ll want to make it again!  Place the other segments in the fridge to keep chilled until you’re ready to use them.

Smoothie directions:

Place 1/4 of the frozen grapefruit and ¼ of the fresh grapefruit in the blender with the vanilla powder and stevia.  Pour ¼ c of the water into the blender, put the lid on and pulse.  If you need it thinner, add a little more water until desired consistency is met.  Scrape the sides of the blender during processing.  Serve chilled with a sprig of fresh mint if you have it!  Y-U-M!!

Sorbet directions:

Place 1/4 of the frozen grapefruit and ¼ of the fresh grapefruit in the blender with the vanilla powder and stevia.  Pour ¼ c of the water into the blender, put the lid on and pulse, scraping the sides as you go.

Hint:  because this makes such a small amount, sometimes it all gets stuck in the bottom of the blender because you’re using such a little bit of water to get the right consistency.  If you make a double batch and freeze ½, it can make your job a little easier.  These make GREAT popsicles!!!

Transition ideas:

Use almond milk instead of water.  You can also use some unsweetened Greek yogurt in addition to the milk or water to make them nice and creamy.
